Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that it will form a new league called the Women’s American Basketball Associaiton (WABA). The target date for the first games is January, 2012. “There’s no doubt about it; the popularity of women’s basketball is growing at a phenomenal rate at the youth, high school, college and professional level,” said Joe Newman, ABA CEO. “The skill levels of today’s women players are tremendous and there is little women’s professional basketball during the regular basketball season. The timing is right.”
“Our goal is to have the WABA teams play before and after regular ABA men’s games and to have at least four teams in a division to ease travel. The initial season will consist of 12-16 games. And to illustrate just how talented today’s women players are, all ABA teams will have a 14th eligible player, a WABA player.”
“To get the ball rolling, we will make it easier to own and operate a WABA team than any other professional sports team,” added Newman. “Minimum investment, minimum risk, huge profit potential.” For more information, contact Joe Newman at 317 844 7502 or email conniejoenewman@aol.com. www.wabalive.com will be available shortly.
